Overview
Our does will be bred anywhere from 6-10 months depending on their individual maturity and will be of good size and weight. In most situations bucks will not be bred until they are a year old to make sure no health issues appear. Only rats with exceptional temperament and health will be contribute to 28 lines.
All pregnant and nursing does are fed an altered diet in order to help keep energy up. This includes such things as baby food, scrambled eggs, extra bones (chicken, pork) and yogurt. I will normally breed two litters at a time because if anything goes wrong with one litter, I have another mum available to help...but this isn't always possible.
Our babies are handled daily from birth. They’re socialized with many people, animals and rats before they move to their new homes to assure you get interactive, friendly, affectionate pets.
Males and females are separated before 5 weeks of age and are ready to go anywhere between 6-10 weeks old depending on the individual rat.
Purchasing
Our rats cost $25 or two for $35. With your rats you will receive a small care pack including a pedigree, care sheet, some of their food and a hammock. Our rats will not be sold as feeders, feeder breeders or to pet stores. They will also not be sold as a solitary rat (rats are extremely social creatures and depend on each other for their happiness) unless you have ratties waiting for them at home.

If you live nearby and would like to travel we can offer to meet halfway but we also travel quite a bit and may be able to drop your rats to you. We also ship rats at your expense. Usually shipping will cost around $70 depending on where you are located, plus the cost of the rats themselves and the container they are sent in. Our rats are only shipped in pairs of two or more to reduce the stress of flying, but generally they take it very well.
